Domain Whois Data Verification

As per the Whois Data Accuracy Specification introduced by Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers [ICANN] and effective from 1 January, 2014, every Registrar is required to verify the email address of the Registrant contact for each gTLD domain name, within 15 days of:

  • a domain name being registered with unverified Registrant Contact email address,
  • a domain name being transferred in from another Registrar,
  • the Registrant Contact being replaced by a Contact with an unverified email address,
  • the email address of the Registrant Contact being modified to an unverified email address,


  • an unverified email address being associated with a domain name, after the domain name is moved to another Account.

The gTLDs for which this requirement is applicable are:

  • .ASIA
  • .BIZ
  • .COM
  • .INFO
  • .JOBS
  • .MOBI
  • .NAME
  • .NET
  • .ORG
  • .PRO
  • .TEL
  • .US
  • .XXX
  • Donuts Domains

Accordingly, an email would be sent from the system to the Registrant Contact email address for verification, upon one of the above actions being performed.
If the Registrant Contact does not complete the verification process within 15 days, the domain name would be deactivated. It would then resolve to a page indicating the reason for the deactivation, alongwith instructions to activate the domain name. The domain name would be activated, once the verification has been completed.
During this 15 days duration as well as upon deactivation, it would be possible from within the Reseller / Customer Control Panel to:
  • update the Registrant Contact Detail


  • re-send the verification email, in case the Registrant Contact has not received it.

To Re-send the Verification Email

  1. Login to your Control Panel
  2. Search for the domain name and proceed to the Order Information view
  3. Click the Resend Email / Resend Verification Email button.
The above requirement is applicable for all gTLD domain names registered after 1 January, 2014. Domain names registered / transferred prior to this date are not subject to this verification process, unless the associated Registrant Contact email address is modified to an unverified email address.

We are undertaking a major revamp of our email hosting infrastructure and platform and as a part of this we are happy to announce that email packages associated to your hosting orders will be migrated to our new Open Xchange v7 (OX7) powered platform


  • Please refer to the table below for timelines for various processes associated with Personal Email packages under your account.

  • DateProcess
    3rd February, 2015Business Email, with 5 GB space per account, will go live and the billing cycle for new packages will change to a per account billing model. You will be able to renew your Existing Personal Email packages at the current prices for a tenure of 3 months, if they are due for renewal before 30th March.
    Between 2nd February - 30th April, 2015Existing Personal Email packages for all packages in active status or in Deletion Grace Period as on 30th March 2015 will be migrated to the new OX 7 platform and the package expiry date will be set to 30th April 2015. If your concerned Personal Email package is expiring beyond the 30th of April, 2015, then pro-rata refund will be processed for you.

    If you wish to continue using this email service, all you have to do is renew the concerned package after completion of migration to Business Email (This will be renewed based on the new billing model which is on a per account basis).
    Between 30th April, 2015 - 30th May, 2015If your order wasn't renewed before this date, your order will be suspended and you no longer will be able to send/receive emails. However, you will be able to renew the concerned order and resume all services as per the new billing model.
    After 30th May 2015All orders that were not renewed will be deleted from the server and you will no longer be able to renew/resume the email services.

  • I don't want to continue with Personal Email. What should I do?
    If you chose not to continue with our Personal Email, we would strongly recommend that you take a back up of all your emails and inform your customers to do so as well before the 30th of May. After this date, you will no longer be able to download your emails as they will be deleted from the server.
  • If I currently have 100 email accounts on a Personal Email package but only use 20 of them actively, will I be billed for 100 accounts upon migration?
    Yes, please delete any email accounts that may have been created for testing or one-time-use purposes that you will not be using any more, as billing will move to a per account basis and you will be charged for it.

 What is the price point? Will there be bands just like Personal Email or is it on a per account basis?

You will be charged on a per account basis. Cost per account per month is USD $1.99

 Can I choose to have a variable size mailbox?


What is the mail sending limit per account per hour? Is there a limit per

It is 100 emails per account per hour. There is no mail sending limit on the domain.

 What is the difference between the existing email solution and Business Email?

 Can I move my existing email package to Business Email?

We will undertake a mass migration where Personal Email package will be moved to Business Email.

 When will you migrate my Personal Email solution to Business Email?

The migration will begin on 2nd of February and will go on until 30th April. Your
accounts can be migrated anytime within this window.

 Will there be any downtime during migration?


 Will I lose my old emails?

No. They will be migrated to the new product that will be powered by the OX7

How can I take a backup on my emails?

You will need to download the mails on your local machine using the POP Server option under mailbox preferences.

Post migration, how will the DNS changes be handled?

If your DNS is with us then we will make the required changes. If your DNS is being managed elsewhere then we will share the DNS changes to be made.

Can I upgrade from Business Email to Enterprise Email or downgrade from Enterprise Email to Business Email? 


Can I have few accounts on Business Email and few on Enterprise Email as they now use the same infrastructure? 

No. They are two different products and hence a one click upgrade/downgrade is not possible.

 Will old SDH and Website builder emails also be switched to OX7?


How will billing be handled in Orderbox for the existing Email hosting packages?

We will set a new expiry date for all the existing packages to 30th of April. Your next renewal will be on a per account basis. A pro-rata refund will be issued for the remaining tenure of the package.
